広島県竹原市の忠海港から船で約15分。周囲約4kmの小さな島が「大久野島」です。瀬戸内海国立公園であり、四季折々の自然の変化を楽しめます。海水浴場やキャンプ場、南洋植物に彩られた芝生広場やグランドが広がり、島内唯一の宿泊スポットである「休暇村大久野島」では、食事や宿泊ができて温泉も楽しめます。また、島内には500～600羽以上にも及ぶ野生のうさぎが生息しており、年間を通して多くの観光客で賑わっています。
It takes about 15 minutes by boat from Chukai Port in Takehara City, Hiroshima Prefecture. Okunojima is a small island with a circumference of about 4 km. It is a Seto Inland Sea National Park, and visitors can enjoy the changes in nature from season to season. There are beaches, campgrounds, lawn areas and grounds decorated with South Sea plants, and the only place to stay on the island, “Kikonmura Okunojima,” where you can eat, stay overnight, and enjoy hot springs. The island is also home to more than 500 to 600 wild rabbits, which attract many tourists throughout the year.
